The New Jerusalem Bible is a bold translation, and it's best read in the hardcover edition. While everyone expects something different out of a Bible, the combination of translation and features have made this one my favorite.

The Translation This translation does not stand in the Tyndale tradition and lacks the familiar English Biblish/5(). New Jerusalem is in heaven. Each time the Bible mentions New Jerusalem, it is said to come down from heaven, where angels guard the city’s gates.

(Revelation 3: 12; 2, 10, 12) Also, the city’s great size proves that it could not be on earth. It is a cube measuring “12, stadia,” or “furlongs,” around. The New Jerusalem Bible book The New Jerusalem Bible Study Edition is ideal for the preacher, student and reader.

The notes are in quite small print and not so easy for the older eyes. The packaging was poor and the book arrived with slight damage which was reported to Amazon - no response from them to date/5(21).
